2020 AFF Cup very first leg: Indonesia loses to Thailand

Jakarta – The Indonesian nationwide football team (Timnas) was beat 4-0 by Thailand in the first leg of the 2020 AFF Cup final at the National Arena, Singapore, on Wednesday night.

The very first objective was scored by Thai captain and attacking midfielder Chanathip Songkrasin. It was Songkrasin’s 3rd goal in the competition.

During the match, the Thai group kept up the pressure on Timnas. The Thai “War Elephants” team did not enable the Indonesian group to become comfy with the ball.

The flow of the Thai group’s attacks caused a fast goal in the 2nd minute through a left-footed strike by Songkrasin. He took advantage of Philip Roller’s pass that swerved past the Indonesian protector from the ideal side.

Thereafter, the intensity of Thailand’s pressure did not seem to decrease, making Indonesian protectors battle in their own area.

In the 14 th minute, Timnas’ Asnawi Mangkualam made a conserve right on the goal line from Bordin Phala’s kick.

On the other hand, Indonesian defender Alfeandra Dewangga had a clean opportunity in the 41 st minute. However, in spite of the lack of clearance efforts in front of the Thai objective, Dewangga’s kick soared away from the goalpost.

In the 45 2 nd minute, Timnas’ Nadeo Argawinata heroically dismissed Phala’s curling shot, keeping the score at 0– 1. The score remained the same up until the game got in the break period.

Previously, the Indonesian nationwide football group got in the last with an aggregate win of 5– 3 over the Singaporean group.

The 2nd leg of the 2020 AFF Cup final will be held on January 1, 2022.
