Off-Duty Law Enforcement Officer Kills Three in Jakarta Bar Shooting

Jakarta. An off-duty officer has been named suspect for the deadly shooting at a West Jakarta bar that eliminated 3 people, including a soldier, and injured someone early on Thursday.

The shooting at around 04.30 a.m. followed a disagreement in between the officer, who is determined by initial Brigadier C.S., and bar staff members over his bill.

Jakarta Police Chief Insp. Gen. Fadil Imran made a public apology hours after the event.

” The suspect was instantly collared today and called a suspect after we conducted the criminal activity scene investigation,” Fadil stated at a press conference at the Jakarta Authorities head office.

” As Jakarta Police chief, the superior of the suspect, I provide my apologies to the public, the households of the victims and the Army. My prayer and idea are with them,” Fadil stated.

C.S. reached Kafe RM in West Jakarta at around 02.00 a.m., when the bar will close, Jakarta Police representative Chief Comr. Yusri Yunus told the news conference.

” He drank at the bar until 04.00 a.m. and involved into a spat with a bar employee over the expense,” Yusri stated.

According to sources, the officer was charged Rp 3.3 million ($238) for the beverages. The inebriated officer got mad with the expense and took out his gun.

” He shot four individuals, killing 3 at on the spot and injuring another, who is now being treated at medical facility,” Yusri stated.

The killed staff members have been recognized as Martinus Kardo Rizky Sinurat, an army soldier who took a moonlighting task as the bar’s security personnel, cashier Manik, and Feri Saut Simanjuntak.

Bar supervisor Hutapea was injured in the occurrence.

Reports stated the suspect pertained to the bar accompanied by a female, whose identity was not divulged.

Jakarta Armed force Command spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Herwin Budi Saputra urged the police to thoroughly examine the shooting that eliminated one of his guys.

He stated the command is “carefully keeping an eye on” the ongoing police examination.

” We get in touch with all soldiers on the ground not to get provoked by this occurrence,” he said.

The deadly shooting was the current event in recent months that put cops reputation in tatters.

It came just a week after 12 officers from the district authorities office in Astana Anyar in the West Java capital of Bandung were detained for apparently consuming crystal meth.

In January, officers involved in a shootout that eliminated four members of hardline group Islamic Protector Front of FPI, that triggered the National Commission for Human Rights to release a probe.
