Migrant security company prevents unlawful dispatch of employees to Cambodia

The Agency for the Defense of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BP2MI) has actually prevented an unlawful dispatch of potential Indonesian migrant employees to Cambodia.

The operation was performed following a report from among the employees on Tuesday to the company’s crisis center, BP2MI head Benny Rhamdani said. The worker reported that they would be sent out to Cambodia from Kualanamu International Airport in Medan, North Sumatra.

Throughout the investigation by the National Cops’s human trafficking task force, the employees stated they were offered to work in Cambodia by their family members and assured a job with a month-to-month salary of Rp 4 million (US$268) and a $250 meal allowance.

Benny stated all files, tickets and $60,000 had been taken by the National Police’s Lawbreaker Investigation Department (Bareskrim) for further examination.
