Indonesia Presents New Covid-19 Alert System

Jakarta. The Indonesian government embraced a new alert system concerning the Covid-19 outbreak to manage the level of threats and identify essential intervention based upon the danger level.

According to a Home Affairs Minister’s decree launched to the media on Wednesday, the term “state of emergency” is no longer in usage and instead the government will use alert level 1-4.

The decree was released after President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo extended constraints in Java and Bali till July 25.

The four-tiered threat measurement follows World Health Company’s guidelines based on caseloads, death toll and hospitalization numbers.

Level four– the greatest– currently applies in whole Jakarta and numerous other cities mainly in Java, according to the decree signed by Home Affirs Minister Tito Karnavian.

The highest alert is provided in a region where there are more than 150 Covid cases, more than 30 hospitalized Covid clients and more than five deaths per 100,00 0 individuals each week.

Under this alert level, malls, public facilities and resort areas are closed, food and drinks outlets can just provide takeaway or shipment services, supermarket and grocery stores can operate up until 8.00 p.m. with 50 percent capability limitations, drug stores can run typically for 24 hours, tourists need to reveal negative test and vaccination status, and non-essential companies should apply work-from-home policy.

The limits in level three consist of 50-150 cases, 10-30 hospitalizations and two to five deaths per 100,00 0 people each week.

Constraints are unwinded a bit, with shopping centers and sit-down meals and beverages enabled up until 5.00 p.m. within 25 percent of capacity.

Level two puts the limits at in between 20 and 49 Covid-19 cases, between five and nine hospitalizations and one death per 100,00 0 people per week.

Level one uses when all indicators fall listed below the level 2 limits.

The brand-new alert system is implemented with matching color-coded risk level, including green (low threat), yellow (medium threat), orange (high risk) and red (public emergency situation).

In addition to Jakarta, these cities and districts currently fall into the level-four alert system:

West Java Province: Purwakarta, Karawang, Bekasi District, Sukabumi, Depok, Cirebon, Cimahi City, Bogor City, Bekasi City, Banjar, Bandung City and Tasikmalaya.
