Drug convict sent out to ‘very optimum security’ prison for producing euphoria in healthcare facility

A drug convict, determined only as AU, 42, is set to be detained in a ” super maximum security” jail after being captured producing euphoria tablets in the VVIP room of a personal medical facility in Central Jakarta.

Central Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Heru Novianto stated AU was an inmate at the Salemba detention center who had actually been sentenced to 15 years for the possession of 15,000 euphoria tablets. He had just served 2 years.

AU was under medical treatment at the health center on a referral from the detention center as he regularly complained of stomach discomfort.

” The suspect argued that he was sick, but obviously he turned the hospital [room] into a factory. We performed an examination and robbed his VVIP room after getting details from the public,” Heru stated on Wednesday as estimated by kompas.com

The Sawah Besar Authorities in Central Jakarta said its team initially arrested another suspect, MW, 36, who had actually worked as AU’s courier, and discovered 30 ecstasy pills.

” From an interrogation, we found out MW is AU’s courier who frequently went[to the hospital] There were a number of production tools they ordered online,” Sawah Besar Cops chief Comr. Eliantoro Jalmaf said on Thursday.

In the VVIP room, the cops discovered proof of euphoria tablets, dyes, a mobile phone and euphoria printing sets to turn powder into granules.

” Our team is still investigating to determine the sales channels[for the drugs] What is clear now is that [AU] offered the drugs for Rp 3 million [US$203] per bundle of 60 pills,” Eliantoro stated.

The police said AU had actually made Rp 140 million from business after over two months in the healthcare facility.

The Corrections Directorate General is set to transfer AU to the Nusakambangan maximum security prison in Central Java.

” With security considerations, AU will be transferred [on Thursday] to a one-man cell under incredibly maximum security at the Karanganyar jail in Nusakambangan,” stated the directorate general’s representative, Rika Aprianti.

Heru stated the police would examine a number of jail guards in charge of supervising AU and the nurses who provided food and medication to the VVIP room.

AU and MW have been charged under multiple short articles of the 2009 Narcotics Law and will get 20 years in prison if condemned. (syk)
