Mitsubishi begins producing Xpander in Malaysia with parts from Indonesia

Mitsubishi Motors has released production of the 1,500- cc Xpander multipurpose automobile in Malaysia, the 3rd country to produce the model following Indonesia and Vietnam.

The significant Japanese automaker ' s local supplier, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, announced Wednesday the first systems of the seven-seater crossover model have rolled off an assembly line at a plant of HICOM Automotive Manufacturers, to which Mitsubishi lorry production is commissioned.

The HICOM plant, situated in Pekan on the eastern coast of Pahang state, can assembling 6,000 Xpanders a year with parts provided from Indonesia.

” The Xpander is a significant design for MMM,” said Tomoyuki Shinnishi, CEO of the Malaysian arm. “We wish to provide a more price-competitive design with better specs, offering customers more convenience and convenience.”

Mitsubishi Motors offered some 290,000 automobiles in the Association of Southeast Asian Countries area in financial 2019 through March 2020, accounting about 26 percent of its international sales, greater than 19 percent for Europe and 14 percent for The United States and Canada.
