A just recently released presidential guideline (Perpres) will permit the Corruption Obliteration Commission (KPK) to more easily monitor and take over graft cases from the National Cops and the Chief law officer’s Workplace (AGO). The guideline, signed by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Oct. 20, details how the KPK is to keep an eye on and review the development of investigations conducted by the other two police bodies. It was released as an executing guideline of the 2019 KPK Law, which approves the commission the power to monitor and take control of cases however does not describe how it will do so.
