Jakarta. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo congratulates 46th US President Joe Biden and his vice president Kamala Harris for their new roles via social media.
“Congratulations @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris on your inauguration as the 46th President and 49th Vice President of the United States,” Jokowi said on both his official Twitter and Instagram accounts on Thursday.
“Let us continue to strengthen our strategic partnership, not only for the benefit of our two nations, but for a better world for all,” he added.
Biden’s presidential inauguration took place at the West Front of the US Capitol in Washington DC on Wednesday or Thursday early morning Jakarta time.
The US is one of Indonesia’s strategic partners for trade.
According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia recorded a total of $15.52 billion for non-oil and gas exports in December 2020. Around 12.06 percent or $1.87 billion was to the US. The first non-oil and gas export destination was China with $3.32 billion.
