Pertamina Sells Pertalite at Lower Price

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – State-owned oil and gas company Pertamina is offering a special price for Pertalite gasoline at Rp6,450 per liter or the same as Premium’s rate at a number of gas stations under the program Langit Biru or the Blue Sky Program.

Corporate spokesperson Eko Kristiawan said the special price was valid for consumers of two-wheeled and three-wheeled motorized vehicles, city public transportation or public transportation, and taxis with yellow registration plates.

“Pertamina also targets public minivan or angkot and taxis with yellow registration plates, which are classified as public transportation, hoping this can encourage the public to care more about the environment and switch to quality gasoline,” said Eko in a press release on Monday, November 23, 2020.

The education and promotion program, he added, was part of the company’s support to the government’s efforts in reducing air pollution as noted in the Government Regulation No. 41/1999.

Eko explained higher-quality gasoline has a high octane (Research Octane Number/RON) content, so it is more environmentally-friendly as it produces low emissions. Besides, higher-quality gasoline will have a positive impact on vehicle performance and is more efficient in fuel consumption.

Eko went on to say that Pertamina continued to encourage the use of quality gasoline products, viz. Pertalite with RON 90, Pertamax RON 92, and Pertamax Turbo RON 98.
