Missing Metro TV Editor Found Dead

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Pesanggrahan Sub-precinct Police’s Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit, First Insp. Fajrul Choir, confirmed that an editor of private news channel Metro TV Yodi Prabowo was found dead on the side of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road or JORR toll road. Yodi had reportedly been missing for two days.

The police initially received a report that the victim’s motorcycle was parked at a fuel stall on Wednesday morning, July 8, at around 2 a.m. “The vehicle’s machine had gone cold and the witness did not see the victim. The witness then made a report to the Pesanggrahan Police,” said Fajrul on Friday, July 10.

Yodi was found dead on Friday, July 10, by three children who were playing kites on the side of the toll road on Jalan Ulujami Raya, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta. “The victim has been brought to the Kramatjati Police Hospital, East Jakarta,” Fajrul added.

Metro TV news director Arief Suditomo stated that Yodi was last seen working on Tuesday, July 7. The victim, an employee since December 15, 2015, was at the office from around 3 p.m. until 10: 27 p.m.

“We ask the police to immediately complete the investigation so that we can know about this incident,” Arief said in a written statement.

South Jakarta Metro Police’s Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit Adj. Sr. Comr. Irwan Susanto suspected that Yodi Prabowo was murdered given the stab wounds found on the latter’s body.

“There are allegations that Yodi was a murder victim, but we are still investigating [the case],” said Irwan on Friday, July 10, adding that investigators also found a sharp weapon. “We secured one knife.”
