Jokowi Officially Inaugurates North Sulawesi Governor and Deputy

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday officially inaugurated North Sulawesi Governor and Deputy Governor-elect, Olly Dondokambey and Steven OE Kandouw for the 2021-2024 office term. 

Adhering to Covid-19 health protocols on physical distancing and face mask, Governor Olly Dondokambey and Deputy Steven Kandouw wore all white uniforms for governor and deputy governor and together took an oath that was assisted by President Jokowi. 

“We solemnly swear to Allah that I will fulfill my obligation as governor and deputy governor the best and fairest possible way,” said Olly and Steven at the inaugural held at the State Palace in Jakarta on February 15. 

Present in the inauguration was VP Ma’ruf Amin, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, and Governor-Deputy Governor of North Kalimantan Zainal Arifin Paliwang-Yansen TP underwent the traditional ‘kirab’ ceremony all while keeping distance with each other. 

The inauguration of the North Sulawesi governor and deputy was attended by 20 guests including State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, along with other officials. 

Olly and Steven was named the winner in the 2020 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) on January 21, 2021, after obtaining 57.10 percent of votes (821,503 votes).
