Jokowi Asks Mayors to Offer Free Masks

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – President Joko Widodo or Jokowi told local heads to do more than simply advise the general public to adhere to Covid-19 protocols. In wearing masks, for example, the president stated that city governments need to give out masks for free, not simply tell individuals to wear them.

” Don’t just tell the public to use masks. I offer you another order; offer free masks. Because often many individuals can not manage to purchase masks,” he said when opening of the 6th National Conference of the Indonesian Local Government Association at the State Palace in Jakarta, Thursday, February 11.

Widodo prompts mayors to preserve efforts in reducing the Covid-19 pandemic, which is widespread in Indonesia. The president advised members of the Association Indonesia to constantly try to find the best methods managing the pandemic.

Jokowi stated regional heads need to never stop reminding the general public to be disciplined in using masks, physical distancing, and preventing crowds. He stated that he had actually instructed the TNI Commander and the Chief of Cops to send their troops to assist local governments.

” Let me advise you that the Covid-19 pandemic is not over. We have to keep working hard, be more in-depth to find new ways to get rid of issues, and even benefit from this crisis to attain considerable progress,” said Jokowi.
