Garuda Opens Denpasar-Hong Kong Cargo Route

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – State airliner Garuda Indonesia has officially launched Denpasar-Hong Kong cargo route today, November 7, to support Indonesian export.

“It’s one of business opportunities that we’ll strengthen continuously,” said Garuda CEO Irfan Setiaputra in Jakarta.

In its initial flight, Garuda Indonesia transported 30 tonnes of cargo, comprising fisheries commodity and other agricultural products from Bali.

Irfan said the cargo trend is growing. He hoped that direct export in fisheries, plantations, and livestocks in Bali and its vicinity will be more competitive.

The Denpasar-Hong Kong cargo service will fly once a week using Airbus A330-300 aircraft with the capacity of 30-40 tonnes. The flight will depart from Bali International I Ngurah Rai Airport, Denpasar, at 07: 00 Bali time and arrive in Hong Kong at 12: 00 local time.

Previously, Garuda Indonesia has opened two direct cargo routes, namely Manada-Narita (Japan) and Makassar-Singapore, during the pandemic.
