Jasa Raharja compensates households of 36 Sriwijaya victims

Since Wednesday (January 20, 2021), of the 40 determined victims, Jasa Raharja has handed settlement to 36 heirs.

Jakarta – State-owned insurance provider PT Jasa Raharja stated it has compensated the households of 36 victims who were on the Sriwijaya Air flight SJ-182 when it crashed shortly after liftoff on January 9, 2021.

” As of Wednesday (January 20, 2021), of the 40 recognized victims, Jasa Raharja has handed compensation to 36 heirs. The compensation for four other (victims’) successors is waiting for the preparedness of their beneficiaries and will be settled at the very first chance,” Jasa Raharja president director Budi Rahardjo stated here Wednesday.

The settlement, which totals up to Rp50 million for each heir, is a manifestation of the federal government’s fundamental defense, in accordance with the Financing Minister’s Policy No. 15/2017, he stated.

” It took less than 24 hours for Jasa Raharja to settle the compensation after the National Authorities’s DVI (Catastrophe Victim Identification) group announced (the names of) identified victims. This is in line with the President’s guideline to hand the compensation to (the families of) all victims instantly by complying with the guidelines and considering the beneficiaries of the victims,” he said.

The compensation was handed to households, in accordance with their residence, as part of the company’s dedication to supply great, easy, quick, and precise services, he said.

The Sriwijaya Air flight SJ-182, bearing the registration number PK-CLC, lost contact at 2: 40 p.m. Western Indonesia time (WIB) on January 9, 2021 shortly after take-off and crashed in between Lancang Island and Laki Island, Thousand Islands, DKI Jakarta. The aircraft was headed to Pontianak from Jakarta.

Based on the manifest, the airplane had 50 travelers and 12 crew members on board. Of the overall travelers, 40 were grownups, 7 were kids, and 3 were babies.
