Jakarta – The Indonesian cops jailed 5,918 people believed of wreaking havoc during rallies versus the job creation law kept in a number of parts of the country on Thursday (Oct 8).
” During the rallies, which ended in anarchy, the Indonesian authorities jailed 5,918 people,” Chief of the Public Relations Department of the Indonesian Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono kept in mind in a written declaration released here on Saturday.
Yuwono mentioned that the status of the 240 jailed individuals was raised to the level of investigation for crime.
” Meanwhile, 153 people are in the procedure of being questioned, while 87 individuals are held in custody,” he specified.
Yuwono kept in mind that enforcement of the law versus anarchic demonstrators came under the National Cops’s ventures to maintain state integrity and public order.
” The state should not worship hooliganism and intolerance,” he stressed.
Yuwono even more said that 145 of the detained demonstrators were found to be reactive in quick screening for the novel coronavirus illness (COVID-19).
To this end, the cops urged those turning down the task creation law to embrace a legal channel by submitting a petition for a judicial review of the law to the Constitutional Court (MK) rather than holding presentations that raise the danger of transferring COVID-19
